Nice France was our first stop outside of Italy. One of the larger cities in the French Rivera it was a great home base for us as we explored the city and some surrounding areas. It had beautiful blue waters and vibrant streets full of color.
On one of my favorite days we walked the coastal path– “le Sentir du Littoral”– from the port Lympia of Nice to the town of Villefranche-sur-Mer. It was a beautiful escape outside of the city and was great exercise (lots of stairs). Along the path there were many private coves and great swim spots to dip in or pack a lunch and make a day of it.
One of Ben’s favorite activities we did was heading out at sunset to a scenic overlook with a bottle of wine, a baguette, and some playing cards.
Our last morning in Nice, Ben and I took a run down to the promonade in the early morning. We ran (he went up ahead) and then met on the beach. I took a dip — one last glorious dip in the blue mediterrainian — and we ran back to our hostel to shower, grab a pastry at a local place and catch our train to Paris.

p.s — how often does a person normally get pooped on by a bird? I feel as though I must be hitting my quota. I got absolutely dumped on at our beach day in Antibes. (not my first rodeo either…)
