Paris pt 3

As the weather steadily dipped colder and colder, the reality that my Croatian dream of swimming again in the warm Mediterranean was slipping further and further away. It was cold in Croatia too. So back to Paris we went.

Paris. It’s beautiful and large enough to continue wandering new streets for days. It has amazing food and colorful fashion. It has a little bit of everything and no lack of dreamy sights. The shopping is phenomenal, and I don’t just mean name-brand, high-cost stuff but amazing quality and well-priced vintage thrift classics. It is easy to get around and even easier to get lost in—but in a good way. Paris, ahhhh, she is lovely.

A special highlight of this trip was going to church at a little cafe/bar in the 14th. I got the recommendation from a friend whose hometown church in AL had sent a missionary family to help it out with its church plant, Emmanuel International. We headed to the 13th and found ourselves being warmly welcomed by English speakers in Paris who were unified by a love of the Lord. It was great. The cafe/bar owners were actually a Muslim couple who opened their doors a couple hours every Sunday for free for this Christian church to worship together, and in trade, the church people buy a lot of coffee and fries. Pretty cool. God works in amazing ways.
